To See
If we could exit
as gracefully as we entered,
there would be no ripples.
We wouldn’t have to mop the floor
where someone spilled their guts,
meant to be picked up,
reconnected
by a former lover’s warm hands.
And maybe,
maybe we would turn around
to see what we’ve destroyed
to see what we’re responsible for mending
to see.
